1. Introduction

2. What Cookies and Browser Storage Are

3. Current FencingMonitor Practice

  3. 3.3FencingMonitor currently uses local storage only to remember the language selected on its legal pages.

4. Language Preference

  1. 4.1The legal pages store the key fm_legal_lang in local storage. Its value records only the selected interface language.
  2. 4.2This preference allows a later visit to reopen the selected legal-language view. It is not used for advertising, analytics, behavioral profiling, or cross-site tracking.
  3. 4.3Users may remove this preference through their browser controls. The language may then need to be selected again.

5. SEO Metadata

  1. 5.1FencingMonitor may use ordinary SEO metadata, including page titles, descriptions, canonical references, robots instructions, Open Graph metadata, and structured data.
  2. 5.2SEO metadata placed in a page header does not by itself store information on a user’s device and is not a cookie or tracking technology.

6. Paddle Checkout Environment

  1. 6.1Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, acting as Merchant of Record.
  2. 6.2When a user enters Paddle’s checkout or buyer environment, Paddle and its service providers may use their own cookies or similar technologies for payment processing, fraud prevention, transaction security, and other purposes described in Paddle’s notices.
  3. 6.3Those technologies are controlled by Paddle within its own environment, not by FencingMonitor. Users should consult the Paddle Privacy Notice and any cookie notice or consent interface displayed by Paddle.

7. No Cookie Banner for FencingMonitor Technologies

  1. 7.1Because FencingMonitor does not currently set cookies or use non-essential browser storage, it does not present a cookie-consent banner for its own technologies.
  2. 7.2A consent interface displayed inside Paddle’s environment is governed by Paddle and does not represent a FencingMonitor cookie banner.

8. Browser Controls

  1. 8.1Users can clear local storage through their browser settings. Doing so removes the saved legal-language preference.
  2. 8.2Blocking local storage may prevent the language preference from being remembered, but does not remove access to the legal documents.

9. Future Changes

  1. 9.1If FencingMonitor introduces cookies, additional browser storage, analytics, advertising technology, pixels, embedded third-party tracking, or another non-essential technology, this Policy and any legally required consent mechanism must be updated before or when that technology is deployed.
  2. 9.2Future plans to improve search-engine visibility do not change this Policy unless an implemented tool actually stores or accesses information on a device or performs tracking.

10. Relationship with Privacy
